A small, focused place to practice Python.
PyPractice is an independent educational project for beginners who want to write code, not watch another hour of video.
Why it exists
Most beginner resources explain syntax well. Fewer give you a short, focused loop: read one idea, answer a question, find out why your answer was wrong, and try again. PyPractice is built around that loop.
What is included
- Fifty lessons covering the first tools most beginners need: output, variables, strings, conditionals, loops, lists, dictionaries, functions, errors, JSON, while loops, tuples, sets, comprehensions, sorting, classes, modules, nested data, lambdas, recursion, regular expressions, generators, decorators, context managers, dataclasses, itertools, collections, functools, enums, CSV files, logging, HTTP requests, HTML parsing, URL parsing, pagination, robots.txt, tokenization, softmax, nearest-neighbor classification, model evaluation, prompt validation, linear regression, gradient descent, Naive Bayes, k-means clustering, and model monitoring.
- 600 practice questions, split evenly between multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and output prediction.
- Short explanations for every question, plus a browser-based Python runner on lesson pages.
- No account, no classroom management, and no server-side learner profile.
How the questions are checked
Output answers are not typed by hand. The build script runs every output question in Python and stores the real printed result. It also checks that fill-in questions contain a blank, that choice questions have one valid answer, and that all question text and code are unique.
What this is not
This is not a complete Python curriculum, a certificate program, or a substitute for building projects. The site deliberately stops at a focused beginner path. More lessons can be added without changing the practice engine.
Advertising and independence
The site is designed to be ad-supported so the lessons can remain free. Ad slots are disabled in the default build until a publisher ID and slot IDs are configured. Advertising does not change lesson content, and there are no sponsored lessons in this build.
